So I unscrewed my hood and painted the top part of the clear screen that shines the light through with a washable blue paint. I just painted a thin layer so it wouldn't be too dark and screwed it back on. Now I get this pale blue/white effect for the tank and it looks pretty nice.

Only thing I'm worried is that will this new shade of light affect the fish in some way? Oh yeah, and it's only fake plants in the tank.

guess they may feel blue for a bit :hyper: . but no it will make no difference to the health of your fish.

If you have plants, however, this would decrease the light they have for photosynthesis.
