Is a standard clay flower pot aquarium safe?

I have a standard orange terra cotta clay pot I bought from Lowes. Now, I know the pot itself is safe. I planted a plant in it though and am wondering if it still safe? I used organic soil and planted basil in it. The basil died and now I want the pot in my aquarium. My plan is to attach a piece of decor to it, to make a hide where I cannot see much, if any, of the clay

As long as you didn't use any herbicide or pesticide on the pot, it is fine. Just wash it out with fresh water and add it to the tank.

Yep, should be fine. Just rinse it well.
