I have a Rio 180 with a built in filter and my fish have all died due to the heater over heating so i'm in the process of cleaning it out and looking to change the system by using a external heater and filter.

Will the Hydor ETH External Heater and Tetratec EX700 be compatible with the tubing etc and run fine alongside each other?

I'm hoping I can get some advice please.

Thank you.

the hydor 200 will be fine, as this has a 12mm size option. though there are "step down" adaptors, i'm not sure how it would affect the flow and, therefore, the heating efficiency of the 16mm size, the rest of the hydors are..

Thanks for the reply.

Is that a good combination to go with or any other better filters for around the same price as the Tetratec EX700 ?

Thanks.

I have 2xTeratec EX700, the tubing is 16mm, I run one of them with The Hydor ETH 300W , no problems :good:

So to get this right in my head

Hydor ETH External Heater 200 is a 12mm pipe
Hydor ETH External Heater 300 is a 16mm pipe

And the inlet Hose on the tetratec ex700 is 11.3mm ?

So even though th hose is a little bigger on the Hydor 200 (12mm) the Ex700(11.3) would still fit fine?

Just want to clarify before order that's all guys.

Thanks.
