Topic: I want to have 2 females and 1 apple snail in a 2.5 mini bow aquarium. Is this enough space for both of them??

I wouldn't think so

From what i know, you should have a minimum 10g tank and 3-4 females to spread out the aggression. Might be mistaken though :/

P.T.

I didn't think the females will hurt eachother. My LFS has a bunch of em in 1 tank. Can someone explain this?

they have a BUNCH, which means there is a picking order. there cant be a picking order with just two.

and its a minimum of 4.

If its divided, then yes, but otherwise no.

Ok thanks. I guess I can just have 1 then. I assume that females can live with the same kinds that makes can.

they can live with guppies as well, unlike the males

A lot of females are more aggressive than most... they will tear a male or female appart.. so.. i wouldn't underestimate a female... at the least.

You are talking about bettas, right? :fun:

mine live together just fine.

prehaps your females were extremly agressive, or short tail males?

I think mine are just especially aggressive to guppies. They are fine with all my other fish and I plan to avoid guppies until I get a second aquarium! I love my female bettas though- it's too bad the LFS don't seem to carry them very often.
