i still cant find any dwarf puffers for my planted 10g but someone has offered me a red-tailed red eye female puffer.

if hes in good shape should i take him?

is thsi specimen fun and cute looking(my mom) is it as intresting as a dwarf or will it just lurk all day?

anyexperience with this puff woulkd be great! :p

i'm not sure but that name sounds familiar i think it gets to big for a 10 gallon and i think it also might be brackish

nope theyre definitely freshwater and will only reach about 5cm or so. at a push you could probably get away with a single one in a ten gallon i would have thought. If theyre anything like my lortetis (red eye as opposed to red tailed, redeye) they arent the most active of puffers, and tend to hide away in the plants and bogwood a lot - theyre nowhere near as active or outgoing as my figure 8's or gsp. The males with both irrubescos and lortetis look a lot more interesting than the females imo

No, you can't take him if she's female, you can take her, but not him ;) :p

The one's I have seen have not been all that active. They were fairly active, but if they weren't in a bare tank, I'm sure they'd b more of a lurking fish. However, all puffers are highly personable, and it can easily very from fish to fish, so I dunno.
