i know a list of corals but i was wondering about other inverts

starfish of any kind?

stuff like that starfish,hermits,snails,crabs

I wouldn't put any echinoderms in a pico. Hermits do ok as long as they're small species and they arn't over-crowded. Some are ok, just keep in mind that grazing snails may deplete the available food in the tank quickly and risk starving. Nerites are good pico-sized snails, although they're definitely not compatible with most hermits because their shells seem to be the top housing pick for a number of common hermit species.

How big of a pico tank are you talking about? Pico tanks are normally around a 1/2 gallon (below a 1/2 gallon is technically a femto tank) to 4 1/2 gallons. 5 gallons is boardering into the nano area.

I would go with 2 small nassarius, 2 cerith, and 2 red-tipped hermits. I would skip the shrimp unless you plan on having him as the main attraction and if you feed him a good diet. Sexy Shrimp are another story though.
