So tonight I noticed a worm like creature in my quarantine tank!! it's about a centimeter long and blackish brown. As I was getting it out, I moved the breeder net that holds snail eggs and there were three little things in there. Not worm like, but almost v shaped with antennae. This tank has been set up for just a few weeks, and at first had no substrate. I later added a bit from my main tank and some new that i washed. Then this week I added some large stones I got that will go in my new tank. I washed and boiled them twice. I tried to get a pic, but none of them came out very well. ANY IDEAS WHAT THEY ARE???

The fish (3 new cories in quarantine) seem fine and i've noticed nothing on them. Help!!!

Planaria or Hydra would be my first suspects

are hydra or planaria harmful to have in your tank?
Hydra become more of a nuisance and an infestation can be a real chore to eradicate. I personally have come across this pest twice in my time in the hobby. They dont seem to cause any real bother to adult fish in general. But I had it in the fry tanks (overfeeding with BBS) which is not good as the Hydra can catch and consume small fry.
Eradication was achievied very sucessfully with Flubendozole (5% powder) The little buggers just melted in a mater of hours.
Planaria is quite common and most aquarists have experienced an outbreak of these at some stage in their hobby. See link for explaination.
