I should apologise, their pen looks really dirty, but it honestly isn't. We clean it out every night and they still manage to make a huge mess.
None of our drakes passed away, they were just very nasty to the girls, so my mum released them onto the river.

You should get some mandarin ducks. We have a pair that lives nearby us on the stream in the woods.

Cheers,
Paradise<3!

Mandarin ducks are so pretty, but if I remember, they're pretty noisy too, which is why we didn't get some.

Well the two near us seem to keep quiet if someone goes near them but any other time they are noisy as H*ll!
Btw, POTM nomination for the ducklings!
Who will second?

Cheers,
Paradise<3!

Thank you guys!
My mum did want some call ducks, but as the name suggests, their even noisier, and the neighbours probably wouldn't like that.

Nice ducks love the bottle green drake mallard in the first pic :good:

btw mandarins are tree nesters so not easy to breed etc

regards

I will definitely second the POTM for the little ducklings! So precious :)

I mean I will third

Well, the only trees here are at the side of the garden, so we wouldn't be suited to them anyway.

You don't see people posting duck pics around here a lot!

Yeah, silver appleyards :D
The ducklings are still lovely, even if they aren't so small and fluffy any more.

They're lovely. Are they tame?

Relatively. I think Dazzle and Jemima are probably the most tame since I raised them myself, hence the shot of them in the bath tub.
