Hiya, I have recently started up my commun' tank and have 4 glowlights, , they have been in their new home 4 a week now, wanted to add male dwarf and 2 female Gouramies, ..hmmm but i have read that they are not as good commun' fish as I thought :blink: , can anyone advise me :)

i have 3 glow fish and glow fish are more stocky then most tetras and the gouramies may pick on them but overall you probable will be fine

Okie, thanks, i'll probably ill get some more tetras, black phantoms maybe :) , for the moment...
 
'Glo fish' (or spelled something like that) are not the same as glowlight tetras. Regardless, dwarf gouramies won't bother them. Having said that, you need at least a 15 gallon for a trio of dwarfs and you have to make sure you are actualy getting females as they tend to be rare and many LFSs don't know the difference between the brightly colored males and the silvery duller females. Just so you know, dwarfs won't handle an unstable tank well and are susceptible to disease. If you aren't too confident with keeping fish just yet, perhaps consider honeys instead (colisa chuna/sota). I should add that the tetras need to be in a group of at least 6 so add a few more (as long as the tank is cycled).
