Kia Ora. So.... my daughter bought a tank with her birthday money in December. I’m new to fish keeping so we are trying to keep it simple. But looking for help and advice (I think the pet shop is tired of my endless questions). Our tank (notice I say “our” now.... I’ve gotten slightly obsessed with these fish) is 80litres. We have guppies, black neons and neon tetras as well as two resident red snails that are fascinating to watch. I rehomed the boy guppy because we kept getting lots of babies and it seemed a bit too much. Still a lot to learn. But looking forward to reading more.
thank you in advance for your advice and guidance.

Welcome to the greatest fish forum in the known universe.
it's not the best forum in the universe. sheesh you humans haven't seen anything close to the best yet. If you survive the next 50 years and make it into space without killing yourselves, you might yet see some really cool fish and forums.

For the op, welcome to the forum.
You will probably continue to get baby guppies for a few more months because the females can carry sperm packets in their bodies and use them to fertilise eggs, even without a male present.

You don't need this now, but the following link has information on what to do if your fish get sick. Yes they are your fish. Kids bring home pets and parents take care of them. Anyway, the link below is long and boring but worth a read when you have some spare time.

The following link is about fish doing stringy white poop and is something to read when you have some spare time.

Sometimes the things you post are legitimately concerning. This is definitely one of them. You are one of the best people I've met on this forum, I can say that for sure.

Welcome!! Feel free to ask any questions you might have, there'll be an answer for pretty much any question here. Enjoy your stay!

@Colin_T must be suffering from re-entry lag. Those trips between earth and the outer universe can be demanding. This IS The Greatest Fish Forum in the known universe. This is The Great TFF Forums. Sung about by the heroes of old and told of by all the bards. Accept no substitute.
Oh yeah, Welcome Friend !

What makes you think I’m human?
