i just recently bought a large colony of green star polyps. When I got hom I noticed a white crab maybe the size of your thumb nail (alittle bigger) dumb me say oh cool and threw him in. over the next day or so I watched to see if he was filtering water. no such deal. i scooped him out last night and threw him in my refugium. what type of crab could it be... and is he going to eat all of my copepods?

is it white with brow spots over his back and arms?

I have an anemone porclian crab, and it just hangs out in my mushrooms, blanketing itself. no harm there.

i thought proclian crabs were filter feeders? this crab has two claws. but hey he looked really cool. if I can find him in my refugium I will throw him back in.

It wont kill all your pods. Crabs are opportunistic feeders s o they will get the food where its easiest to find. this usually means detrius ans waste foos/algae in the tank)

id get a 100% positive id on him before putting him in your main tank he could be harmless or it could be evil you just dont know :)

This is my porcelain anenome crab:

Does he look anything like that?

yep but mine is more of an albino one. does not have all of those spots yet. could it be because it just went through a molting stag?
