Interpet T5 Compact Lighting

Can't seem to find much info on these, do Interpet have a website? I'm thinking of getting one of the 55w units for use in my Juwel tank, at the momnet I'm looking to rest one end on the bracket in the middle of the tank and the other end on the filter. Not sure what the recommended fittings for these are and whether resting it on plastic parts would be bad. Any help appreciated.

you could try to take a look in the DIY forum, lots of people install custom lighting on their tanks and post about it there!

jimbooo another member here has had problems with the centre brace on his Juwel 180 directly related to having placed a bank of lights directly over the centre brace in his tank, basically his brace became brittle over time and then cracked, he is currently sorting this problem out, he has a thread running in the hardware section dealing with this issue. jimbooo was running T8 lighting and i dont think the tubes were leaning directly on the bracing (but probably only an inch or so above it) T5 lighting is a lot hotter than T8 so personally i would not recommend it.

Id suggest you have a look at the thread as the centre brace on the 180 has changed over the years and yours may be different, but if its plastic i wouldnt try it, you could also give jimbooo a pm and im sure he will give you some advice.
