Just been running my new Interpet Pf Mini Internal Power Filter and my drill is a lot quieter so thinking of taking it back. As anyone else had this problems using these filters as it might be just the make or a fault?

A filter that sounds like a drill should go back immediately. If it is typical of the brand, avoid that brand.

Got my Fluval u1 and now it's in the tank :) so quit had to look a couple of times to see if it was working as it's so quit. Now i'm happy to hear theres no loud noises if the fish had ears they would of been putting something in to block out the noise

defently getting a fluval u1 in the future iv been looking at them allot but you just confirmed im getting one!!

In any pumping system, noise means inefficiency. In order to make a noise, it takes energy. That energy is not pumping any water but you are paying for it as electrical power.

I don't think you can go wrong with a fluval as I've been told there are a nice internal filter from now on i will be buying these, so just might get a fluval u4 for my 30 gallon as the other one is ok but not the flow rate for the tank 5 times, but having the fluval 1 in should help things until i need it in my Q tank.

I have the Interpet PF2 and it's as quiet as a mouse.

It most of been a fault in the filter I bought? but did get a Fluval u1 in place of it, glad your happy with yours :)
Have to admit, I am very tempted by the Fluval. Have never heard of Interpet one before. So much more available for the Fluval. Hope you have more luck with it. Doesn't seem like the Interpet are that popular. Not sure I want to know why though lol

I have the PF1 in my small tank, it can be noisy sometimes but its usually just because filter mount has come loose from the glass and it's the vibration making the noise
