I find my internal filter vibrates through the tank and lid, and gets louder the tighter the suction pads are to the glass. It seems like something needs to be made to suspend the filter in the tank without it being stuck to the glass. I'm just wondering if anyone has done anything like this before?

what filter is it?

Could be some trapped air inside it thats making it noisy???

No it's not noisy at all when it's not touching anything. I always make sure air bubbles are out of it where possible. It's definitely more of an issue with vibrations escalating through the tank and lid.

I have had similar problems with power heads driving sponge filters. I end yp moving them around to a place where they do not set up a resonance on the glass. A little trial and error will often give me a significant noise reduction.
