This is a SPOOF thread to the external filter tests because it only covered internals and it is interesting to see what the actual flow rates differ to the supposed flow rates.
So heres My Interpet. My Elite will shortly follow.
Interpet PF1
Age At testing - 5/6 Months
Manufacturers flow rate - Approx 380 L/H
Media - 2x 1/2 a sponge on one side and 1x sponge on the other
1x sliver of foam atop the main foam holder.
Actual Flow rate - 330L/H
Explaination...
Some of the water actually bypasses the filter as part of the design so the motor will stay cool even when the filters are blocked. This means it always draws through the maximum flow through the pump unit and fools you into thinking it is working when it could well be blocked.
I may do my other internal as that doesnt have a bypass opening
To test the filter i timed how much water it pumped in a minute and then multiplied by 60 to go from 5.5 l/60Sec to 330l/h
EDITED TO ADD: I made a few changes from 6.5 to 5.5 as i was stupid and thought 5.5 was actually 6.5
