Always do right, not popular...
There is always much confusion on just what is the main contributor to the common cyano bacteria outbreaks. At least for me there has been.
Since I have added my 100gal sump to the main tank, I have also added a pair of 25gal growout tanks above it. They are all plumbed into one another. Above my main tank, I have VHO and MH. Above my sump, I have overdriven NO lighting. Above my growout taks, I have PC, and Cyano!!!! I am not blaming PC directly, but it seems very suspicious that it is seeming to thrive under the different intensity and spectrum. It leads me to believe that lighting is playing one of the most important roles in production of cyano
I have to look into this a bit further. I was just tossing out some thoughts. I really believe it is spectrum more than intensity. My main tank has more intense light, and my sump is less intense. Odd
