Intake Pipe

got a new filter (eheim 2026) but if i use the intake pipe the correct way around (ie long end inside the tank) then the strainer is touching my subsrate. is it ok to use the othe way around (ie long bit outside tank and short bit in tank with strainer on) or to cut it off possibly?

yes you could do either, personally I'd cut it off a bit so it is around an inch above the substrate

If you are using sand... I'd go a little higher with that saw, say 3 inch.

Yep I just turned mine round so the long end is outside the tank and the short end is in it. Too lazy to cut it down
