Couple of weeks ago i change my strainer at the end of my intake pipe. This was so i could put a filter sponge on the end to stop any big debris etc getting in my filter. (Fluval strainers on the big side)
Last few days i notice my filter as been making a bit more noise and after some investigation it was due to air pockets getting in near the impeller.
After a water change today i checked the flow out my spray bars and there was hardly anything pumping out. So i wondered if it was due to the new strainer id put on. So i put the old fluval one back on to try.
It worked!!! The flow was straight back up to speed and my fish was soon surfing in the current. I think its something to do with a ball what wasnt in the new strainer.
So glad i looked into it else it could of caused problems further down the line.
So dont change your strainer people lol
