I know I probably shouldn't have but I couldn't resist. I bought a silver arowana. It was $15 for a 8 inch specimen.
So now I have to get a big aquarium(not that its a bad thing). I was thinking of getting it off of www.glasscages.com. Its 96*24*25. The arowana is in a 55 gallon right now. How long until it outgrows this. I will probably be getting it for christmas.
This aquarium should be ok for it right?

about 6 months and another 6 months till it outgrowns the other tank you will need a 84x36x24 really.

Well I guess I could could give it to a petstore in a while. Heck I might make money. But i will still get they 240. Is there any arowana that will fit into this size tank?

Yeah asians will be fine in that size tank.
Silvers can and do grow to 30" which is really too big for a 24" wide tank...

Silvers can reach 48". Asians or Jar's (though aggressive) will be fine in that size tank.

I think blacks are about the same, otherwise I would get one for my new tank.

Blacks hit about 2.5-3ft at full size dont they...if memory serves

Silver aros get to 4ft black arowanas get to 3ft asians stay around the 2ft mark but demand a high price tag and are illegal to own in the states.
