I am about to start up my 72" tank with 2 x Eheim Pro Filters. My tank has a cut out in one corner which will accomodate 1 filter but the rest of the tank has glass straps all around the top making it tricky to install piping for the infeed and return from the filter.

Any ideas please?

I had the same issue with mine  Plumbing it in parallel, with two T junctions, as shown below, works for me...

One of those each for the inlet and outlet. Idealy, you want the master inlet and outlet and that T junction to be twice the thickness of the filters pipes to allow for aditional flow through the inlet and outlet bits, and then feed into the filter Via reduces to the filter pipe size after the T junction :good:

Thanks Rabbut, but I am a little slow on the uptake this morning - can't quite grasp what you have done there

Am I right in thinking you have 1 inlet and a T piece from that to 2 filters? And then the same for the return?

Correct, yes :good:

Idealy, you would have reducers after the T junction, such that the bits of pipe serving both filters are thicker than the pipes serving one filter only. This will allow for greater flowrates through the pipe, reducing frictional losses and thus keeping flow up. In my case it wasn't possible, as my inlets and outlets were the largest that my tank would take
