Does anyone use an 'off-the-shelf' CO2 inline reactor?

I've seen the Aqua Medic 1000 but they're a little bulky and don't have the right size connections. I need 16/17mm.

These look ok but I don't read German too well...

I've just installed a Tetretec EX 1200 external filter on my Juwel Rio 125 and fancy losing as much gear as possible from inside the tank.

While I'm here can anyone find cheaper than £35 inc. P&P for a Hydor 300w inline heater?

Thanks,
George

Try using this site George: http://babelfish.altavista.com/

That will translate from German to English quite well.

Also I have both that specific reactor and the external heater you're after and they are both EXCELLENT. I think I paid about the same for the heater, so if you do pay that price it's worth it.

Good luck with them George

George, those reactors are the dog's bits and what I use on my tank. Far superior than the Aqua Medic 1000 but's that's just my opinion. Very sturdy and compact piece of equipment. If required they can change the tube connector size for you, but it comes standard with 16mm. I've taken some pictures of mine in this thread - http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=157923

£35 for the ETH300 is pretty good and about what I paid for mine.

Be careful with the inline heater George.

Remember the first version isn't too hot when it comes to leaks and there are quite a few still kicking about the cheapo sellers.

I ended up buying my 3rd attempt from

www.Aquatics-online.co.uk

while you're there you might want to buy the eheim nylon brush. seems to be the only brush in the world that takes the bend of the lily pipes (The twisted wire ones get so far before you cant push them without fear of it 'puncturing' the glass)

They also have quite a good stock of other things (I bought some airline holders for my CO2 line and inside the water once pushed onto the glass they a re totaly transparent apart from the plastic clip)

I am using the Aquamas inline reactor on my Iwagumi and find it to be a totally inobtrusive, zero maintenance piece of kit. What more could I ask from it? Unfortunately, Aquamas have shut down their eBay shop, so it is a bit more expensive now.

Here is a Hydor heater for slightly less. Another excellent piece of kit I use on my Iwagumi, but just keep the temperature dial away from inquisitive little fingers:

Use to use an aqua medic 1000 on my old trigon 350 and it worked great, my mate also uses one on his 6' discus tank and it has never caused any probs from what i have heard. I like going with branded makes as you do get the warranty that you may not get from smaller independent companies.

I thought 'is that the old box' then I saw the word THEO. It isa heater, pump combination.

George - You are right it seems that aquatics-online have removed it from the site. maybe they had too many problems with it! I had to send one back to them that was damaged (Hydor confirmed that it wasn't fromn the original faulty ones) so maybe they were tired of the damages!!.

Thanks guys.

Chris - 12/16mm is too small I think. I'm assuming 12mm is internal diamter of hose, 16mm external. I need 16/22mm. Thanks anyway.
