Injury

My fish Meiyu got himself caught in a flower pot (my stupidity) and now he has a small chunk missing right before his top fin and what apears to be a few scales missing between his head and fin. He also has a red spot about 1/3 of the way back on his lower fin.

After an emergency trip to walmart i treated the tank (2 gal) with Melafix and aquarium salt (both properly diluted).

He seems to be swimming ok, but slowly. Is there anything else i can/need to do to help him recover?

Slight dose of antibacterial medicines and clean water.

Also, either remove the pot or stick a little piece of sponge in the hole

The pot is out. I am going to plug the hole with a pebble and some aquarium silicone
