I've just looked down at my tank to see my weatherloach has been injured (I'm nearly sure of it) I'm not sure how this has happened but I don't know what to do as I'm sure the fish is in a lot of pain!!!!

I've attached some photos to help you see how the fish is!

PLEASE HELP ASAP

Your fish has fungus; probably as a secondary infection on a wound, from the looks of things. You'll need to treat it with an anti fungal medication, BUT you must check the packaging that it's suitable for scaleless fish and carefully check the dosages; you might need to use a half dose, for example.

I'm afraid your substrate is not at all suitable for loaches. It's part of their natural behaviour to dig around in the substrate, and rough gravel can cause injuries; they need either a very smooth, small grained gravel or, even better, sand.

Your fish also looks very thin; is it the only one you have? Like all loaches, weather loach are very social and should always be kept in a group, or it might not feel happy and secure enough to feed properly
