I had to move my Bristlenoses to my other tank today.

I have 6 of them, roughly 1-2" in size.

When netting them however, their 'retractable hooks' that come out of the side when threatened got stuck in the net and they wouldn't budge. I ended up having to pull the BN out of the net (gently I thought).

However, now they have settled in to their new tank, I notice two of them have their 'retractable hooks' permanently out on one side. No doubt down to my stupid handling of them.

Is this a problem?

ps. by retractable hooks I meant these things:

i dont know if about it being a poblem but for future reference if they get stuck just sit the net in the water for a few minutes, they will (in my experience) work themselves out of it

Hopefully, since they are retractable, all you've done is pulled a muscle on them, they should heal in time. No need to worry, just keep up on the usual checks, E.g. eating properly.

Gone back in dudes after a day or so. :good:
