maybe CFC or one of you other catfish nuts can help.

having had the last week off work, I come back to find that we have a catfish in stock called
a Satan cat, however this is not a blind albino one Satan eurystomus
looks very similar but is jet black and not blind.

any ideas?

sorry. i was just skimming the "new topic" headings, saw this and just died laughing.

you have to admit, it doesn't really sound like a fish-related question at first.

you know me and my topic titles :p

Do you think they just named it a satan one because of the all black?

Possibly a asian redtail catfish Mystus nemurus which looks very similiar with the picture I have of one and it's considered rare and usually only imported by large aquariums. However without a picture of the catfish I cannot really be positive although CFC probably would have a better idea

camera batteries on charge  , I will take pic tomorrow and post one or two :good:

oh dear that is the one :/
thanks CFC

For someone with a large tank looking for a solitary fish with a lot of character they could do a lot worse than one of these, the one i owned for a brief period was a great little fish that would rush to the front of the tank whenever i came near, it unfortunately died after the clay flower pot dish i had suplied as a cave by propping it up on a rock collapsed and traped it underneath.

don't fancy having another one then CFC?

Yes and no, if i had a spare tank of decent proportions with nothing in it or anything needing to be upgraded i would love another one but at the moment i just dont have the room so its one to be kept on the wish list for the future, most likely when the fishhouse is up and running and the pond built i will have a tank for one of these.

Out of interest how much is your one up for? The one i had was given to me for free in a lfs cock up when they gave it to me in a buy one get one free when i bought my Liearus pictus (hey who am i to complain if they cant tell the difference between two different genus of catfish) but was marked up at £120 so it would be interesting to see what an average price is for them.
