Well what kind of gourami? but I'm pretty sure none of them will go with africans look it up on google.. HTH

Gouramis range from about 2 inches to 24 inches.
Dwarf Gouramis - 2 inches
Sparkling Gourami - 2 inches
Giant Gourami - 4 Inches
Blue/Gold/Opaline - 6 Inches
Pearl Gourami - 8 Inches
Kissing Gouramis - 10 inches
Giant Gourami - 24 Inches < < Compatable with Oscars and Firemouth Cichlids

Only one type of gourami is compatable with some cichlids and that is the giant gourami.

Unfortunately, gouramis do not go very well with cichlids. That includes your angel fish. The angels pick on the gouramis, not usually the other way around.
