Hi

I am on my third fish now showing similar signs to another two that have died.

Basically a platy became quiet and didn't eat for over a week. Just before she died his belly swelled a little (I think). Then she went into fits and died.

A week or two later the same thing happened to a guppy (without the fits). He looked like he had a small gash on his side.

Now, about 3 weeks later another platy is quiet, and I haven't seen him eat in ages. Today his bellly looks a little swelled.

Could this be a parasite working its way around my fish? Or something else. Can anyone offer advice on what is happening and what to do?

Thanks Andy

Need to know tank stats, what fish, filtration and cleaning routine.

Could be a parasite and bacterial infection, this is why we need stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing on objects, or laboured breathing.
Swelling can be constipation, swim bladder, dropsy, internal parasites, what do you feed your fish as a poor diet can lead to constipation and swelling.
