Hi everyone, have a question concerning the growth rate of the Indonesian Tiger Fish – Datnioides Microlepis. I have an IT and have researched it well, I know the estimated final size of around 18 inches (probably smaller in the aquarium) but all information I have read state these fish grow slowly… but how slowly?

Any ideas on what the average growth rate could be of a Tiger in a one year period, given that the conditions are good and the fish is feeding well?

Present size of my fish only 4 inches (just a nipper, but with a belly like a bottomless pit, careful feeding required!)

Any info would be good, guesses allowed too… :)

Depending on water quallity and feeding in my experience datnoids grow at a rate of around 2 to 3 inches a year.
