Hello,

So I recently started my first Planted Tank and things are going great, all plants are starting to show improvements and growth. However, now I have noticed a lot more brown Algae on the glass and on the plants.
Without getting into too much details:

60 Gallon Tank, (48" Wide, 12" Deep, 24" High)
4 x 55W T5Ho Bulbs at 6400k on for 8 Hours a day
CO2 Injected 8 hours a day, not a DIY setup.
Seachem Flourish Tabs in the Sand
NILOCG Thrive All In One Liquid Fertilizer twice a week.
40% water changes per week.

Just wondering from your experiences, is this due to too much fertilizer or too much light?
Could it be from the CO2? I have it at 3 bubbles per second, the PH has dropped by 0.8
I plan on getting about 12 Nerite Snails, just waiting for our Store to receive some more.
Or do you think I should leave everything the way it is and let the snails do their thing?

Thanks

The snails may clean that up but you won't be solving the problem, just masking it.

I suspect that its caused by too much nutrients available in the tank. If it were me, I'd bring the CO2 down slightly and reduce the lighting as well.

Maybe go down to 6-7 hours a day. You may already be doing it but I'd make sure the CO2 goes on 1 hour before the lights do and then one 1 hour before they go off. Having it on just before the lights go on means there's plenty ready for the plants and then turning it off just before the lights go off means you're not wasting any of an evening.

What filter have you got and what's the flow rate like around the tank?
