Well after letting my tank settle for a couple of weeks (I used some existing filter sponge from my community tank, and put some fish straight in) , and after making sure amonia and nitrite were zero, I got my new apistos.

They are tank bred Inca50, from a local breeder, and I love them

Their behaviour is amazing, although they are a little shy still after just over a week.

They are soooo much better than television. I want to fill m living room with little tanks of these guys.

Congrats! The incas are very nice little fish, how old are they? They should have a gorgeous yellow gold colour behind the head and gills and a deep orange band along the edge of the tail, if they are in breeding form. The males get a nice dorsal fin too, kind of like cacatuoides. Do you know if they get a wide oversized mouth like Cacatuoides? They look kind of like a cross between Cacatuoides and Panduoro...

Great, I'm glad to hear they are settling in well, such great little characters. And as Ken says, we hope to see some little guys speeding around under the guard of thier mum in the year .

The fish are about 3-4 months old I think. They have quite spectacular markings when they are flirting with each other.

She is a very bold yellow, with dark, black stripes. Kind of like a little yellow zebra.
He has a yellow head, with most of the rest of his body a sort of metallic light blue. And a very red stripe around his tail fin. Oh and quite a spectacular dorsal fin.
And he is really stutting his stuff.

They are becoming much braver, and spending a lot of time out in the free space. Much flirting is going on, so hopefully soon, I may hear the splashing of tiny fins.
