Inactive Pleco... Help!

I have a royal pleco in my discus tank does not doo anything! I have so much algae in my tank but all he does is hide in the driftwood. I thought he would atleast comeout at night but I check with my flashlight at night but he just sits there. The algae is still there.... Argh!

Have you got driftwood in the tank for it to rasp on? This is quite emportant in the diet of panaque plecos. Also try not feeding anything other than a small ammount of frozen food to your discus for a week or two. This will encourage the pleco to look for other food sources, which would hopefully include the algae in your tank.

Yeah I don't think you have anything to worry about because when I first got my pleco for like the first week he just hid behind the tube on my undergravel filter then he would come out at night just to eat the algae wafer I put in their. So I didn't put one in for about a day or two then a day after that all the green and brown algae was gone.
