Got this one from Amazon to run my river tank manifold.

Works well, but after two years the impeller shaft is corroded, it has lost about half its original flow rate, and it's rather noisy. I'll probably just order a new one and stick with the devil I know; a $20 pump that runs non-stop for two years isn't terrible. But if anybody has any recommendations, I'm all ears. The only big issue is it has to be compact. Space is extremely limited behind my waterfall.

I have 2 of them on under gravel lift tubes in one of my tanks, that I kept the old style filters when I started them up again... they have been running silently for 3 years, but my Amazon history doesn't go back that far, so I'm afraid I'm not much help, other than there are units out there, that will run silently for longer... good luck with your search

I always look to longevity of use, and quietness with a powerhead. It's one area where the new Chinese brands haven't come through for me. I've had some fail quickly, and one delivered a solid electrical buzzing when I put my hand in the tank. Older model maxi-jet and Hagens were reliable and long running. I'm still running 2 Hagen/Fluval ones on undergravels, and they have been reliable for years.

jebao powerheads are super good, i own one that used to be in my 29g saltwater tank and it was awesome. mounts to the side with a magnet, multiple modes, and best of all it was quiet

I think i had the SOW-4 or the SOW-8 but they have more powerful models that cost more
