Hi all, just bought two 405 external filters and i would like advice on where to place the intake and outlet in the tanks.One tank is 165L and the other is 260L

Has no one got any advice.I need to get it right first time as holes need to be cut in the lids

Hi, this is not advice only my preference.

I use an external (305 in a 240 ltr) and have my inlet and outlet pipes next to each other but obviously at different heights. The idea being the returning water flows, under pressure, accross the surface away from the return pipe which is situated near the bottom of the tank. In my way of thinking this will produce a circular motion within the tank preventing 'dead spot' forming.

Works for me and mine...
