In a 55 gallon tank

would I still need to have four females if i wanted multiple bettas? I only want two, but i am not sure if they would fight, or sence the tank is larger maybe they wont.

if the tank is that big they will probably just leave each other alone although keep an eye out for any harrassment between them just in case

there will still be agreesion, but in a tank that large they will seldom cross paths and probably establish their own territorys, i would still recommend 3 just to be safe thogh, maybe you'll run across a third one u like
