Been looking online for the right sort of filter media bags to put Purigen in, and can only seem to find huge things way too big for my Fluval 305. So I thought, instead, I'd make my own. Only slight problem with that is that I, er, don't know how... Any suggestions? Can't really do socks because it has to be transparent enough for me to see when the Purigen changes colour and needs renewing. Tights, maybe? Anything else?

Those things are way too expensive anyway - Seachem's 'The Bag' (nice use of the definite article there to denote  its uniqueness as a bag, which presumably does more than just hold things like other mere 'bags') costs £10. For one. Even if they had the right size, I think I'd make my own out of principle now...

Old tights or stockings is probably the best. They are clear enough to see through.

I have some of those bags but I haven't ued them for Purigen as I don't think they are fine enough.

Seachem "The Bag" is 180 micron mesh. I have a 200 micron bag that I got in a box of AquaManta Phos-Nitra Remover from Maidenhead Aquatics and that holds Purigen just fine. So if you can acquire a 200 micron filter sock or bag that should do you just fine.
