Impeller help

My imepeller is hitting the side of the casing I believe, I can hear a grinding noise, and it's making my filter too noisy to live with. How can I fix this?

Check to see if you can pull out (most filters you can in the instance they must be replaced) Then replace it securely

Hmm, the only time I've heard grinding is if sand gets into the impellor surroundings.

And you have sand in tank?

I say return it, but if u cant try to clean out the impeller. Also when using filters with sand, if newly set up, let sand settle

Depending what filter you have if a brush came with it try scrubbing it with it. You can also spray water into the impeller surroundsings to bring up any debris.

Did it...I cleaned it like a dentist cleaning a British mans teeth: without improvement
What a filtering tragedy, now my big SD's must stay in a 29g until this is fixed.
