Well after a month of fishless cycling I have finally got some fish! YAY!!!

I've decided to still add them gradually though as I can't afford to buy loads and makes the pleasure of getting new fish last longer..

I have 4x long finned white cloud moutain minnows and 3x amano shrimp. currently acclimatising them to my tank and they are looking quite happy so far :D

I was starting to get a bit bored with all the waiting but finally the hobby has got interesting again.. :) :)

Glad you have done your cycle. Its good to get the fish in at last.
I see you are from Southampton to.Quite a lot of people from here on this Forum.

well I acclimatised them for about an hour in the bags and carefully fished them out with a net and put them in.
they looked a little bewildered when I first added them, but after about 1/2 hr the minnows were happily swimming about, even playing in the current from my filter.
I read that shrimps can tend to hide but mine are very active and exploring the whole tank.
Definatly a good idea to heavily plant, think it makes such a difference to the fish.

So far all is going great!!! :D

Well a night has passed and so have two of my LF WCMM's :(:(:(
They looked so happy yesterday as well, its heart breaking...

I've checked the water parameters any they are fine so maybe the fish we're sick when I got them..
Going to call the shop today to see if there is anything they can do...

Sad to hear what happened :( Are the other fish ok?

The others seem to be ok so far... spoke to the shop today and they said they will replace the ones I lost which is good. I'm going to replace the 2 I lost and get another 4, they are so entertaining :D they love to play in the current of my filter and are always displaying their fins! I'm trying to take a photo to post on here, might take a little while to get a decent one though. Any tips on taking photos of fish?
