im thinking about making a coast to coast overflow, does anyone have one of these?

how big should i make it for a 8x2x2 that holds 900 liters? and how big should i make the hole in the side of my tank?

ive not used one, but seen a fair few. In theory they lead to very good surface movement. No crap and crust left on the water surface.

If you're planning on a 900L tank, that means you should be planning on 5 times that volume in flow per hour through the sump. So 4500LPH or 1200gph in numbers I understand. That would require 1.5" or larger drain bulkheads (I might go larger for safety), and an 18" or longer horizontal length for the inner box (otherwise known as 45cm or longer). And you'll need a pump that can do somewhere about 6000lph at 0 feet of head
