Well I started fishless cycling my tank on Friday March 7. I added some drift wood from another established tank along with some gravel and whatnot. I raised the ammonia to 5ppm ish and abou a week later I saw some Nitrites about .50. A couple days later Ammonie started to go down and Nitrites went up and spiked. Today now 2 weeks and 1 day I have 0 Ammonia, .5 Nitrites, 40 Nitrates, 7.4 PH

I'm just really amazed how quickly this process is moving along. Its so much better than cycling with fish.

Glad you're having a good experience.

But, I'm pretty sure that the cycling speed has more to do with the gravel, etc. from the old tank, rather than the "fishless" part.

That is, if you use gravel, even cycling with fish would probably be significantly faster.

Cool! Glad you posted your experience. As the summer season is approaching, I'll be doing this with the dormant 38gal to bring the fish home for summer vacation from school :)
