First off let me say that live rock is gorgeous! It's amazing the colors and textures there are on it! One piece has a leather coral on it already... I just hope I don't kill it!
I just got 6 lbs of Fiji lr and 7 lbs of lace rock, along with about 3 lbs of tufa that I put in yesterday, so that brings me to about 16lbs of rock. I am not very good at this rock-stacking thing, so I'm open to any advice you have.
Also, I plan on getting some small pieces of lace rock and filling it in a little.
The lfs said they've only had in the lr for about 3 days, so it's not cured yet. Do you know how long on average I should expect it to take? Should I test ammo, nitrites and nitrates every day, or every 2-3 days, or when?
I have a PowerGlo bulb (it's only 15 watts) that is 18000 k. Will that be enough for the leather coral to keep growing?
One more question, how much lr will I need to be able to remove the media from my filter? (It's a 20g, will have: hermits, snails, 1 clownfish, 1 blenny, possibly 1 wrasse, 1 firefish.)
Thanks!
Sorry about the crummy pix - my camera isn't very good and neither am I!
