So I picked up the 20 gal I found on Kijiji today, it cost me $105.00 CAN, and well...

Here's the tank and stand (Bad picture of the stand, but it's a stand)

The stuff that came with it, wow

Apparently the guy had the tank for only 8 months. His friend works at a Petsmart and would 'on occasion' bring him excess supplies from the store.
Total supplies I got: (I like to keep my tank as chemical free as possible, so most of this is waste imo :/)

1 Nitro-zorb (Ammonia + Chemical remover)
3 Bio-zorb (Same as above)
7 Stresszyme (API)
35 Ammonia Lock (API)
2 Goldfish cleaners (API)
1 Melafix (API)
1 Pimafix (API)
2 Ammo-carb (Activared Carbon)
1 Phos-zorb (Filtration media
1 Aquarium Salt (API)
2 Backgrounds
1 Plant Light
4 Activated Carbon pads
3 Coral rocks
3 Pieces of Bog wood
2 Shells
1 Skull
3 Other decorations
1 Heater
1 Rena Smart Filter 30
3 Plant Pellets (API)
1 Syphon + accessories
1 Heater
2 Air Pimps
1 20 gal tank (12x16x24)
1 Hood
Gravel
3 Pieces of Bog Wood
Stand

I think I did pretty well ;) Now I just have to set it up and cycle it :p

Looks like a bargain to me. I would be getting the majority of those chemicals on eBay, may just cover the cost you have paid, free tank. It looks bigger than 20 gallons, what are the dims?

I agree with Tony, I'd put the vast majority of those on eBay to recoup some costs. But good job! :good:

Dimensions are 24(l)x16(h)x12(w), at least thats what the e-mail says :p I haven't actually measured it myself.

I may end up using the chemicals, who knows....
Though I have no idea what to do with the activated carbon and other filter supplies :/

That sounds a bit iffy to me.

Personally, I'd take the stuff back to the shop it was stolen from. Given what you know, by having it you are condoning the actions and by selling it on (if you do) you put yourself in a very vulnerable position.

For the amount of stuff i got it was a very good deal, for the amount I'm going to use, it's still a good deal, but not as good a deal lol. I dont plan on using the ornaments or chemicals, but I think I'll keep the ornaments. I have no idea where the chemicals came from, if I did I'd take them back, as I have no use for them.

Let me make an observation here, I look at what the previous owner saw fit to have on hand as an indication of what troubles they were experiencing. Think of it as a detective kind of thing. What I see is lots of stuff that will carry a label saying it helps with ammonia and plenty of things like melafix that may indicate a problem with fins or maybe even fungus issues. I would also bet on an algae problem based on seeing things like the phos-sorb. OK a lot of that may not have been needed, but I always want to know something about the problems faced by a former owner since they may give me clues if I have any problems. A tank is usually not a sterile thing but reflects the previous history of that tank. I want to minimize my dead end investigations by knowing what the former owner thought his problems were. I figure that such basic research saves me lots of time if I see any problems.
