I'm Lost!

Why is it that if I'm replying to a post/topic I can upload pics from my computer. But when I try to start a thread and upload a pic I can't?

I understand that I will have to log into photobucket, flickr etc which is a pain in the **** but as the question says.........why do I have to go through that awkwardness when if I was replying to a thread I could just literally upload from my computer?

Yep, host an image from the pc? is that what you mean?

Some forms here are open to uploading and some are closed, this is all controlled by admin's.
Why I dont know thats why i just use photobucket.com all the time

That is a subject of discussion among us in the MOD forum too helterskelter. We are trying to figure out a consistent way to use uploads. None of us can make sense of the present system and we want to make it better, without incurring expenses that would impact the forum itself.
