I noticed about 5 days ago that one of my girls wasn't quite right, I seperated her and later that night she was dead, since then I have lost 3 more girls. I don't know whats going on with them. They start out with a little chalky white around their mouths, they become lethargic and lose their appetite. They lay side ways at the bottom gasping for air and the white spreads arounf their face. They usually die about 10 hours after they first develop the white around their mouth. I have no idea what it is... But out of a total of 10 girls I've lost 4 and 3 are displaying symptoms, they've all been moved out of the tank into seperate containers and are all being treated, even the ones who are displaying no symptoms. I've taken everything out of the tank, the cories (who seem fine) have been moved into my 5 gallon, I'm cleaning everything in the tank, steralizing all of the plants, I don't want there to be anything left in there that can harm the remander of my girls. I don't know what else to do!!!! Please help!!!!

Yes it it mouth fungus a bacterial infection, you will need antibiotics, good luck.

Use an anti-internal med and anti fungus and finrot. I did this with mine despite the fact you should use both together and it saved the life of one of my girls. It is imperative to keep the water extremely clean and for them to feel totally non stressed and quiet.
Best of luck with them. I lost alot of my girls last month to Columnaris (8 out of 10) and I still get pangs of utter misery when I see pics of Teelie and co. :-(
Hugs,
P.
