Hello, i have been keeping tropical for years and have always wanted to keep marine but the hubby has always liked cichlids. Anyway i have just baught a new 90 litre tank, it has a internal filter, heater and white light. Im compleatly new to marine and if someone could tell me what i need to turn it into a marine tank that would be great. I would like to keep about 4 fish (clowns etc) and hermits. Also coral and live rock.

i need to know what i need and also quantities for the tank.

Let me know if you can help thankyou

Hi I did the same thing last year and have a 94 litre tank which has run quite well since thegn

Have a look at my journal, I was a marine newbie and it may help you at the start

Your tank will need about 11 kg of live rock, marine sand and a power head to blow the water round the live rock

You;ll need test kits, I;d suggest a cheap skimmer and better lighting if you want to keep corals. t5 lights would be better than t8s if thats what the tank has now

At first theres lots to buy a refractometer salt and RO water

I have two fish in mine and will get one more I also have hermits snails etc

Fire away with the questions
