Bertie the bristlenose plec is my new favourite fish. He's only about 1.5 inches long and he is really cute. He is brown and spotty - I'm not so keen on the albino ones.

I call him a boy but of course I don't know yet if he's a he or a she

I'll try to get a pic later. He isn't shy at all and can often be seen out and about, cleaning the glass on the tank for me

I just wish I had a big enough tank for more plecs

I thought I would get addicted to bettas as I have two in a small tank, but to be honest they do nothing, and I am spending a huge amount of time trying to treat them for finrot They have no personality.

I know I'll get slated on the betta part of the forum, but the plec is much more fun to watch, and my kids spend ages playing 'find Bertie'

Yep, addictive as anything plecs. I started with 1 (which turned out to be a gibbiceps who is now 8-9 inches and growing) and have now got about 100 (that is including about 70 baby bristlenose though)

yeah soon enough more and more tanks will come to house all the plecs

thing is theres no rehab for the addiction
