ok at petco yesterday i saw a blind one. he is white and he has green rust and red on his tail he is really cute. my mom just think he has red eyes but i look at bettamomma's louis and he has similar eyes .im going to rescue him today, anyone have ideas on a good tank ? should i just use a aquaview(i use those)? the deal is i have to feed him clean him etc my mom isnt going to do it.

if you do deside to get him, kelly had a blind betta at one point, she would know how to care for them

What Petco in IL? I've been looking for a new betta, and I wouldn't mind taking on a blind one. But I'm not sure how far I would be able to convince my mom to drive me for one, though.

Just searched it on Map Quest, it's almost a 5 hour drive! So I don't think I'll be able to get the betta.

If you want him, buy him. He will most definatley have a better life with you than if he is kept at the LFS or sold to someone with no idea that he's special.

I say go for it!
And even if he does die, you'll know in your heart that he had a good home for his remaining life and he died peacefully. And think, he might die in a horrible stinky cup if you don't rescue him (not trying to pressure you into it, or anything *wink* *nudge*). Thats how I would think of it. If he's only blind, and seems fine otherwise, I think he would have a very good chance of surviving.

my mom wont let me now.he might have a home now. i am not sure i may go check today ,if he is still there i am grabing a small tank and taking him w/ me (i dunno i think i will get him a small tank so i can clean it myself easyier) his water was very clean besides poop when i was there on friday Jessica(the fish girl there) cleans them every saturday ,how do i know this ? one friday i asked when they are cleaned and they are cleaned on saturday and tuesday.so he would be cleaned yesterday .my mom was worried if he would eat or not so thats why she wont let me buy him but the weird part is there were no un eaten pellets at the bottom of the cup (every other cup had a few) so i think he can eat. he didnt look unhealthy he had a werid tip on his fin but it looks like a recovery from finrot it wasnt black or red it was clean and the same color as the rest so, i really want him but my mom wont let me .

If you're old enough to buy him (I'm not sure on how old you are or laws for this in America), then just get him! You mum can hardly make you take him back. And if you hide him, she might not even notice
