I have a 10x digital zoom and for close up shots of small fish it is bad
for good close ups you need std zoom(not digital) and 3x or more.
for a beginers camera the oneyou have chosen is ok

so it will be crap for fry pics but okay for adult betta i dont realy want the pics to come out all blurry, ill buy it and try it out but if its not very good ill take it back if i can lol

Vivitar are known for making lenses, but their cameras are very good too. I got my Mother one years ago, it was very reasonably priced but all the shots had the colour and sharpness you'd expect from a much more expensive camera. We were very impressed - hope your new camera is just as good! Enjoy, and don't forgot to post the pics here so we can check out your fishies!

optical zoom is a must - as is a macro function.

All the digital zoom does is enlarge the pixcels - just like a graphics package on a pc - only normally worse.

As wolf said - 3x optical zoom would be a good spec to look for :)
