Hey all,
On Sunday, I'm going to the Philadelphia Area Betta Society International Show and Auction to buy another betta! :kana: I've got my tank set up and cycled, and have been planning this for about 20 days. I'm hoping to get a turquoise halfmoon, but we'll see what happens. My one question is: are there any basic guidelines I should know about purchasing a betta at an auction? (I've never bid at a live auction before)
I don't need a super breeding-quality fish, I just want a pretty companion. I'm willing to pay up to thirty dollars, so guess I should bid on whatever fish I like, up to thirty dollars?
I'd appreciate any tips or suggestions.
Thanks! :)

Don't know anything about buying from an auction, but I hope you have a good time and look forward to hearing what betta you got :)

The auction will be quite easy and I'm willing to bet that you'll find a perfect fish for waaay less than 30.00, unless you're in search of the Best Of Show fish, even those go for around 30'ish (sometimes more). After the auction is over there will be a table full of "no sale" fish and those can be purchased for the minimum bid price, usually 3.00.
Have a blast!
I may or may not have some fish showing there this weekend. I sent off a box of seven but I didn't send them express so I have no idea whether they made it in time or not :S

That's so cool. I hope they arrive. I'm getting excited! Just have to finish some homework before tomorrow... :p
