My name is Ophelie, I signed up in April 2011, but split up with ex a few month later and to make it short, I lost "err was stolen" the 4ft tank in the process.
I now live in Ewell, Surrey. I have a 90L tank that I had for over a year now. For Christmas, my boyfriend got me a Fluval Roma 200L. I can't wait to finish to upgrade from my "baby sized" tank and move my fish and shrimps in it. I have some guppies, that I am thinking of offering for a swap, some cherry shrimps, and two plecos that I recently bought as my tank had algae problem (lights need changing but as I upgrade, the new owner can do this). I must say they did an amazing job in just over a week, nearly all algae was eaten.
Not sure of what I will keep in my upgraded tank once it is cycled, but I will definitely keep my shrimps.
We bought the tank new yesterday afternoon, so so far, we built the cabinet (doors need fixing), and I put some media last week in my 90L to grow beneficial bacteria on it to place in the new filter. We swapped the U4 internal filter that was offered with the tank for an external filter, the EFX 300 for an extra £30. I didn't see the point of having this U4 with the new tank as my 90L already has a U4 in it!
I'm not entirely sure how to make the upgrade yet, all I read was to use a quarantine tank to home the fish in while the new tank cycle, but I don't have one. But I am for sure going to use my current tank to speed up the filter's cycle.
