Got my LR coming in half hour so thought I really need to get my halides mounted - nope not done it yet

well I am not that bright and just realised the suspension unit sits on the edge of the tank on the glass, so there is a plastic part shaped as such. Well my nice tank doesn't have any glass to rest it on as the brace bars are so high up!!

If I rested it on the wooden frame of the lid would this hold the weight ok?

Im just completely useless! haha!

Not sure if it'd hold? How secure would it be. Any doubt, then don't. Water plus electricity = doom!!!

now I have a useless suspension unit along with a useless halide unit! Also crap lighting for the tank.... its not looking good!

Well if I made sure the frame was solid it might be ok but not sure I wanna risk it either...

I cant hang from celing or wall so the only option was on the tank! I wish I thought things through properly!

No you can but a bracket to go on your tank which holds the unit..

Oh! attached to the cabinet? or the actual tank? forgive me Im not familiar with all this haha!

No they normally sell one that you attach to the actual tank, it's like a plastic structure that you rest the lights on top of.
